The Warrier Family UAE joined hands to celebrate the ONAM KELI 2022 after a hiatus of nearly 3 years on 25th September 2022 at Rayan Hotel Sharjah, UAE.
The day long events kept everybody enthralled till the end.
The families were divided into two teams Thallumala Warriors and Minnal Kaduvas .
The day started with the Pookalam Malsaram between the two teams.Creativity of the Warriers shone through the beautiful pookalams that were designed by the two teams.
After the general meet and greet, the events started at 10.30am with a Prayer song followed by the lighting of the lamp by senior member Raviettan, his wife Sreedevi, Anil Kutty, Anita Warrier and Vijayam Kutty.
The members gave a resounding welcome to the Maveli to the programme and he was there throughout the day to witness the cultural programs by the family members.
The ladies of the group presented a Traditional Thiruvathira led by Mrs.Suparna Warrier and team. This was followed by performances by members which included songs , dances , keyboard presentation among others. After the individual and group performances the stage was set for the battle of Thallumala Warriors and Minnal Kaduva which began with a tug of war for Men, Ladies and Kids. This was followed by a new game called Killithathil which all members enjoyed.
The Sumptuous spread of Traditional Onam Sadya was relished by all family members as all enjoyed sitting together for lunch after a long time.
Post lunch session saw the Drawing &Colouring and Dance Keli competitions for kids. Family members had fun watching the Saree draping competition for men .A few ladies discovered the hidden talents of their husbands draping the saree. For the first time we also had a Mrs.DSWG where 12 ladies took part in the pageant.Mrs.Uma Murali was crowned Mrs.DSWG.
The Vanjipattu and Spot Dance Keli competition between the two teams was well sung and spot talents were discovered.
During the Ramayana month ,a short quiz was organized every week on a online Platform . The winners of the Ramayana Quiz was won by Mrs.Sunita Anil,1st Runner up Mrs.Usha Sethumadhavan,2nd Runner up Mrs.Nirupama Ramesh and 3rd Runner up Mr.Arun Warrier.Before the quiz started,Ramayana Parayannam with meaning of the verses by recited by Mrs.SreeLekshmi Arun.The prizes were distributed on this event.
As part of enhancing the knowledge, a themed online quiz on Onam-Ganesh Chaturthi-Kerala Art Form-Kerala Geography was organized for the children (6-18 years) . It was won by Vani Anand,1st Runner up Prayuktha Ranjith,2nd Runner up Atul Prasad and 3rd Runner up was Samved Somith.The prizes was distributed on the event.
The event also awarded the Best dressed Man and Best dressed Woman.
A scripture skit based on Maveli and Vamana was presented and it gave the final closure of the event.
All family members enjoyed the day with Onam cultural programs, Onam Sadya and Keli competitions between the two teams,
The entire event was organized by the Cultural Committee led by Mrs Viji Jithin, Mrs Suparna Sudish and Mrs.Devi Girish with support from Mr. Jithin Warrier, Mr. Girish, Mr.Bharath and the EC members of the family
