Warrier Samajam Delhi Onam-2026

Warrier Samajam Delhi’s 2026 Onam celebration and family gathering was successfully held on Sunday, October 4, starting at 10:00 AM at the Devinder Vihar Community Center in Gurugram. The "Pookkalam" arranged by members significantly enhanced the natural beauty of the venue.

The proceedings began with a prayer by a senior member of the Samajam, Raji Chechi (Raji Warrier). As she devoutly recited the 'Nirvana Shatakam' composed by Adi Shankaracharya, other senior members of the Samajam lit the ceremonial lamp, officially inaugurating the Onam celebrations.

Following this, everyone observed a two-minute silent prayer in memory of beloved members who have passed away. Attendees reflected on how their presence—which once filled the hall like the fragrance of the "Palappoo" and their services to the community always remain a source of strength for the members.

Special mention was also made of members who had relocated from Delhi and could not attend the event due to professional or health-related reasons; gratitude was expressed for their support and cooperation over the years.

Shri Krishnankutty Namboodiri attended the event representing 'Gayathri,' a collective of the Namboodiri community. As part of the ceremony, the new executive committee members, elected in July 2026, were introduced to the community. Additionally, the executive committee honored the editorial team behind 'Mayilpeeli,' the quarterly publication of Warrier Samajam Delhi, and invited artistic contributions from everyone for future issues.

Mr. Balakrishnan, a senior member of the Samajam, inaugurated the newly designed Warrier Samajam website. Mr. Abhinand Warrier, who developed the site, was commended for his efforts.

The executive committee extended a warm welcome to members who had recently moved to Delhi, and each of them introduced themselves on stage.

The subsequent cultural programs added vibrancy to the celebration. Guests actively participated in a variety of events, including traditional "Thiruvathira" performances, fusion and cinematic dances, "Bharatanatyam", musical performances, and a quiz. Senior office bearers conveyed heartfelt Onam messages. It is a source of great hope to see the children of yesterday stepping up as Gen-Z members, ready to take the lead.

Following the cultural events, a sumptuous "Onasadya" was served to the members across five batches. Yet, it was the overflowing spirit of love and friendship filling the hall—rather than the dishes served on the banana leaves—that truly made the feast memorable. The celebrations concluded with a group photo taken at 3 PM. The members parted ways happily, looking forward to meeting again at the sports gathering usually held in December.
