UAE Warrier families met & Enjoyed Each Moment of the Day and it was a Memorable day to celebrate Onam with all their extended family members of Warriers ( DSWG), UAE with the theme of “Onam-Ponnonam 2023” on 1st October 2023 at Red Castle Hotel,Sharjah-UAE.
The creativity of the members was seen with the Pookalam,wherein it was an eye catcher to all as they entered.
The stage was set as all members started coming in and had the lighting of the lamp with some senior member’s alongwith the core EC members.
The anchoring was done by Uma Murali & Indira Prasad.
The president Indira Prasad gave a warm welcome to all the members for the event and communicating to all the members on the effort done by the cultural committee of Dhanasree Ashwin, Dileep Chandran, Divya Pradeep, Prabha Kailash and Nikita Anand in organizing this event.The welfare support which was given by DSWG for Vidya,Education fund and medical support provided to some beneficiaries was informed and continuously seeked support from the members in helping the community.
Maveli( Prasad W) was given a warm welcome and all the members got his blessings for this Onam.
The beautiful ladies presented the Traditional Thiruvathira with 14 members and were well appreciated by all.
This was followed by Group Onam pattu song,Individual –Group songs&dances by members.There were new members who had joined and participated in the programs.There were games organized with teams created to have competition and each member participated with great enthusiasm.
It was almost noon time and the sumptuous Onam Sadya was ready and the rush to eat food was seen as the aroma of the Sadya was in the air.Having Sadya with all family members sitting together was great to see and the men supporting in serving was a treat to watch. In sadya there were two payasam of “Parippu” and “Ada pradhaman” and members were having it multiple times.
In Post lunch session there was Drawing and Coloring to all the kids below 15 years .
The Housie with “Onam theme” was newly created and there were cash prizes for the winners.
A Group photo was taken with all the members who were there and had it for Ladies & kids and Men separately, as the group was too big to get in one frame.
Token gifts were given to all the children who participated in the drawing and coloring which was judged by Rema Ramesh and Nithya Deepak.
DSWG has always provided a stage to perform for our budding talents to upscale their skills and this event provided the platform to do so.This event we had lot of kids on the stage after a long time and it was good to see them performing.
An entertaining day with programs,games and Sadya for all the members who had come to celebrate “DSWG Onam Ponnonam” and all had some memories to remember.
