Dr. Balkrish Nair (72) Passed Away

അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര പ്രശസ്തനായ മലയാളി ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞൻ ഡോ ബാൽകൃഷ് നായർ (72) തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് ഇന്ന് (08-09-2026) ഉച്ചക്ക് 1.25 PM ന് നിര്യാതനായി. നങ്ങ്യാർകുളങ്ങര പടിഞ്ഞാറേ വാര്യത്ത് പരേതനായ ജീ എസ് വാര്യരുടെ ജാമാതാവായിരുന്നു പരേതൻ. രഞ്ജിത വാര്യരാണ് പത്നി.

ശാസ്ത്രത്തിനുള്ള വളരെ ഉന്നത ബഹുമതിയായ ശാന്തിസ്വരൂപ് ഭട്ട്നാഗർ അവാർഡ് ഉൾപ്പെടെ നിരവധി അവാർഡുകൾ കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. മെറ്റലർജി രംഗത്തും പ്രാഗത്ഭ്യം തെളിയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. കോളറയ്ക്ക് കാരണമായ പുതിയ അണു കണ്ടെത്തിയ ഡോ ബാൽകൃഷിൻറ്റെ ഗവേഷണം അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര തലത്തിൽ ആദരവ് നേടിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ബംഗ്ളാദേശിൽ അതിസാര ചികിത്സയ്ക്കുള്ള അന്തർദ്ദേശീയ ഗവേഷണ കേന്ദ്രമുൾപ്പെടെ വളരെ നിർണ്ണായകമായ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളിൽ ഡോ ബാൽകൃഷ് നായർ നിർണ്ണായക സ്ഥാനങ്ങൾ വഹിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.

Internationally renowned Malayalam scientist Dr. Balkrish Nair (72) passed away in Thiruvananthapuram today (08-09-2026) at 1.25 PM. The deceased was the son-in-law of the late G.S. Warrier of Nangyarkulangara Padinjare Warriam. His wife is Ranjitha Warrier.

He has won several awards, including the highest honor for science, the Shantiswarup Bhatnagar Award. He has also demonstrated excellence in the field of metallurgy. Dr. Balkrish's research, which discovered a new germ that causes cholera, has won international respect. Dr. Balkrish Nair has held key positions in very important institutions, including the International Research Center for Diarrhea Treatment in Bangladesh.

The funeral will be held tomorrow (09-09-2026) at 10.30 AM at the Thycaud Shanti Kavadam.
