DSWG Annual Day & 15th Anniversary Celebration

Dubai Sharjah Warriers Group celebrated Annual Day and 15th Anniversary in style on 8^th January 2010 at Spicy Land Sharjah. The event was inaugurated by our Ex-President, one of the founder members, Shri. T. Achutha Warrier (Achuettan).

First half of the day was filled with Cultural Programs.  The mind blowing dance by kids was the highlight of the day.  Ladies had two group dances to take the audience by surprise. The young and not so young solo dancers also stole the minds. It was a different experience to see one of our budding talents dancing to a film song sung by our own girl. 

Men as usual kept their skit a secret and gave a chance for a good laugh enacting the latest political scene in Kerala. The solo songs had a variety to satisfy the complete cross section of the crowd.  The classical concert illustrated the diversity of our talent.

A special PowerPoint presentation was screened to walk through the 15 years of our growth. It covered the important milestones and the photographs took us back to our memory lane. It was a proud moment for all our members.

Annual General body Meeting was held at post-lunch session. The official proceedings started off with a speech by President (Murali M V.) followed by Secretary's report, Treasurer's Report, etc. Further, with a concluding address by the President, 2009 Committee was announced officially ended.

Thereafter, election for the new committee took place under the guidance of Mr. P.G. Devadas (Unniettan), as Returning Officer. New office bearers are -

Executive Committee Meeting on November 22, 2009

The Executive Committee of the Varier Samajam Madras, had their monthly meeting at the residence of Sri. C. Saratchandran on the 22^nd of November 2009.  The members discussed routine matters and started the planning for the Annual Day Celebrations, to be held on January 26, 2010.

The special guest on the occasion was Dr. Ravi Warrier – Professor of Electrical Engineering at Flint, USA.  He shared his thoughts and experiences on the working of the different Malayalee organisations in USA.

The Cultural Committee of the Samajam – headed by the Ladies Wing – can be called the driving force behind the programmes.  They work tirelessly from the beginning of the year to ensure that the cultural programmes are conducted smoothly and with variety.
